जनपद गाजियाबाद में प्रशासनिक सुविधा के लिए जनपद में 21 पुलिस स्टेशन (25 Police Station In Ghaziabad) बनाये गये हैं। जिनको तीन श्रेणी में बांटा गया है। नगर क्षेत्र प्रथम जिसके अंतर्गत 6 थाने एवम 39 चौकी आती है। नगर क्षेत्र द्वितीय जिसके अंतर्गत 6 थाने एवम 37 चौकी आती है। ग्रामीण क्षेत्र जिसके अंतर्गत 8 थाने एवम 51 चौकी आती है। इन सब के अलावा एक महिला थाना भी स्थापित है। इन 21 थानों के ऊपर 8 क्षेत्राधिकारी नियुक्त है। जिनके ऊपर 3 पुलिस अधीक्षक नियुक्त है और जनपद में सबसे ऊपर वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक नियुक्त है।
जनपद गाजियाबाद के सृजन के उपरांत प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में हुई प्रगति के साथ-साथ बढ़ती हुई का आपराधिक गतिविधियों में लिप्त अपराधियों पर प्रभावी अंकुश बनाए रखने एवं पुलिस व्यवस्था को और सुदृढ़ बनाए जाने की महत्ता को दृष्टिगत रखते हुए जनपद पुलिस अधीक्षक के अतिरिक्त दिनांक 08/07/1981 को एक अपर पुलिस अधीक्षक के पद का सृजन हुआ। औद्योगिक क्षेत्र एवं जनसंख्या में निरंतर वृद्धि होने के कारण, राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली के समीप होने, विशिष्ट एवं महत्वपूर्ण महानुभावों के आवागमन तथा बड़े-बड़े उद्योगपतियों की आवास स्थित होने के कारण इस जनपद का महत्व और भी बढ़ गया जिसके फलस्वरूप जनपद के प्रभारी पुलिस अधीक्षक के पद को दिनांक 08/02/1988 से वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक की श्रेणी में उच्चीकृत किया गया और पुलिस अधीक्षक, सिटी के पद का सृजन किया गया।
दिल्ली, जनपद गाजियाबाद के समीप स्थित होने के कारण अधिकांश अपराधी गाजियाबाद में अपराध करके दिल्ली में छुप जाते हैं तथा दिल्ली में अपराधियों के आवागमन के कारण अपराधिक दृष्टि से यह जनपद अत्यंत संवेदनशील है।

Due to increased growth conditions in the industrial sector, there would have been an increase in mass productivity with higher quality multiplication and an increase in mass productivity as a result of which the post of Superintendent of Police in-charge of the district was upgraded to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police with effect from 08/02/1988 and the post of Superintendent of Police, City was created.
Due to being located near Delhi, District Ghaziabad, most of the criminals commit crimes in Ghaziabad and hide in Delhi and due to the movement of criminals in Delhi, this district is very sensitive from the criminal point of view.
